Word means anticipatory endorsement.

I was setting up a good new high-end stereo the other day. I’d be interested in purchasing it now. How did the radio work when we turned it on? I immediately got that sinking feeling and started to think that the stereo might turn out to be a lemon (it wasn’t).

Upon looking for words to describe the creeping feeling of dread and loneliness that the most desired thing or event will turn out to be less wonderful than anticipated. I have an “i’m a girl?” but my best name is “anticipatory disappointment”. What is this combination of fear and hope that might have one both praying and swearing at the same time? What do you think your thoughts are?

How can you explain this fact?

I was credited with inventing this word for a holiday card I designed at my ad agency in the 70’s. The card read, “There’s only one word that truly describes the war, spirit and love of the holiday season.” Open to, “Acceptment”. I remember this day that was memorialized and published in the Atlantic Magazine in Word Trak. Ray Jacobs

Letdown 1. Letdown 2. Letdown 3. How can I make sure I am not letdown 2. To be
clear, the cancellation of the first Halftime soccer game was a real letdown. What was the problem?

If you don’t even know you’re going to suffer a letdown, but you’re increasingly fearing you might, you could say you’re having qualms/misgivings or you’re apprehensive.
