Without being scary, how is a non-vulgar way to express “Oh shucks!”?

You’re watching a catastrophe unfold. It’s time for your own good. The time you have to spend with someone. What can you do?

I want to capture an “Oh, Shit! moment for a formal client, since it is very vulgar. I also know how to tell a good letter on a letter other than the words, in my opinion.

I didn’t respond to the sentence well enough as I

could have and used more than one sentence. I felt this. The sentence was very uncomplicated. I want to end my sentence nicely.

I settled on the words “panicked” and “crisis”.

I did not respond as though it were a crisis and he didn’t seem panicked. He did not seem panicked, so I did not react as though it were a crisis.
