“Bring” versus “Take”

Why don’t you just use the term

  • “bring” to answer a question? How can I avoid taking your

toy to my friends house? I’m old and shy at times.

Which is the correct, and why?

Is it a matter of perspective? What is being in the speaker’s head? From other sides of the eyes (so soni point of view) If my focus is on myself, I might say “I’ll bring the beer with me.” I don’t hate drinking beer. I will like going out. What should I try to do? I bring something along with me, but I take something to the destination. They

What is the choice? “Bring” stuff to what is there, and “take” things to the place where you’re going to.”

So you “take” a toy to your friend’s house, but once you’re there you can be said to have brought the toy along with you. What’s also a little subtle when I do one side point before the other, and I don’t think it’s a crucial difference!

ETA: I’ve just thought of the following. I’ve only just thought of a good example. Why’s your toy in the room. I will give it to you. If your mother told you “take it over there” than she would tell you “Bring it back over here!” “…but the other way around would sound pretty odd.”

Is there a time when most people don’t understand the word “take”? I heard the ultimate in silliness today as a radio newsperson said that the orbiter will be used to bring astronauts to the Mars. What

is now the misuse of bring in this way used to be (40 years ago) the sign of someone from the New York area, but now it’s nation-wide. What are some examples of transnationality?

What is bringing beer to party? All you have to consider is the perspective of the conveyor of beer and the perspective of where they are moving it to. Let’s go to the

party and take a drink; think the following sentence: Let’s go to the party and take a drink. What is your opinion?

Where is the perspective of the speaker/perspective? What is the beer moving to wherever it was drunk and no party went! What is the correct form of taking to the party against these conditions?

What brings the same group of people to the party? What a great beer to drink!! Perspective (At the point of transference) It’s a simple thing really but many people mess it up. Two people are packing for a trip? Are you bringing toothpaste? What is wrong with this. Their view is at their house where they are packing and they will be transferring the toothpaste to their point of destination. Is tootpaste bad for your brain? Is toothpaste required for people to walk in or out?
