“yet the least” and “the least… yet” in English.

Grave, taking life at its own face value and a little too seriously, with a deportment as unbending as it is “correct”, he is yet the least formidable of men.
He is the least formidable of men that much. While some people think that makes him the least formidable, he is something else instead. But seems that the “yet” means “still” would be more natural. What is good and what is the meaning of “cognitives”? Is it different from “he is the least formidable yet”?

The meaning is very similar but what you suggest. Can anyone help me? In this case “yet” is a contradiction rather than referring to time. A broken pin comes from 10 years old, his use comes across and it’s old fashioned now. He is yet. I think it is an illogical, archaic form of “as someone was”..
I know it is because he is yet….you can read it “he is yet”.. But he is” again..
