Why am I being conscientious?

I’m looking for a word that describes myself really well. I want to know if that person is taking doing right by anyone seriously.

I like principled but for me it can connote an adherence to a doctrine and the person I am thinking of follows their own sense of right and wrong. I can associate stubbornness and close-mindedness with principled people and this is not what I wish to imply.

I also like a conscientious name, but this word can also imply attention to detail.

The word I’m looking for describes person that cares about doing right because that impact it has on people, not service to some moral code.

A virtue ethicist would simply call them ethical, though.

Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy:

Virtue ethics is currently one of three major approaches to normative ethics. It may, initially, be identified as the one that emphasizes virtues, or moral character, in contrast to the approach which emphasizes duties or rules (deontology) or that which emphasizes the consequences of actions (consequentialism).

How can I get around our close mindedness (deontology) and moral code of conscience right-doing (consequentialism), if I like to get there?

Have a sniff around the Greek word Eudaimonia also…

Plato:

the good comprised of all goods; an ability which suffices for living well; perfection in respect of virtue; resources sufficient for a living creature: everything that is on its way, being able to walk perfectly, being strong and happy; all that is about to rise/fall, and everything that is beyond it?

How do I identify myself?

You could say that they are honorable.

When used in conjunction with a title this tends to mean someone who is highly placed (e.g. a very top job) Whidely and carefully, when used to describe a person’s character, it means that they act well and caring, etc., and feel they are morally sound. Our Justice Stevens says the Honorable Judge Stevens is a good person, but when used to describe a person’s character, it means they act rightly, and are fairly and ethical in their dealings with others. What is a way to suggest that doing the job is helpful to society and other people, and not just a way to make money, as in “He wanted an honorable profession, so he became an oncologist.” “I

want to continue having fun!”

I know some people that I like who are quite altruistic, so correct me if I’m wrong but I do believe that this person is attracted by their worth. A. person can be one of these. Is this term highly negative, doesn’t relate to morality, and refers to somebody who “cares about doing right because it has an impact on people. Per Merriam-Webster, ”

feelings and behaviors that show a desire to help others and a lack of selfishness”
