Where did you go to school? My parents have been teaching me sentences how wrong are they (because I said so?

What is used to mean? As you suggested, ‘used to’ is a word that means ‘in the past’.

Where did you go to school once? This implies that someone at a current high school or college started in a different high school or college. Should I ask someone who has completed school if I have a problem with their school system and how did they do it? ”

Both the words ‘did you use to…?’ and ‘did you used to…?’ are possible. Where did you once go to school? Cambridge allows both, with reservations: Questions
