When do you write the word to “church” or “christmas” with a capital C?

Should religious terms be capitalized?

  • When can

I write the word “church” with a capital C with “church”, and when can I simply write it as “church”?

What is a good strategy for a beginner to get into what it takes to get it in a good way?

Unfortunately my rep has not posted comment. Sorry.

If I stumbled upon @sumelic’s comment in the original post, I would say any time you want to highlight a certain church (and the full weight that its name carries), I would capitalize it.

For example, in this article here.

To give my own example sentence, I would say, “The Catholic Church has been known to blah blah blah, but the Church as it stands nowadays blah blah blah.” Does

this help?

What is the best way to go about it?
