What is the term for the person leaving his/her position to replace the position?

In academia, professors will sometimes take a secondment where they take a break from their normal role and someone will temporarily replace them.

Understanding correct words for a blog post I need to make in this process is time consuming and im uncertain where it comes from. Is the suggestion correct? I am afraid that there is a possibility of error in the form.

  • The person leaving and on their place is called:
  • The secondee The person using their position is taking:
  • A secondment A person who is away from their position is:
  • On secondment The person replacing the secondee temporarily is:?

What is it like to become a Doctor?
