What is the most effective way to “write” on a computer?

I always say we write a column in newspaper, but if it’s related to computers and all does this mean we should use that? Can we get a column name without saying “creating a column”? How do I fill in a blank like ‘Dear Madam, it takes time to write a witty column’ that I can’t fill in.?

Is there any consensus in favor of a higher order approach to the debate?

What we still call writing whether it is written, printed, otherwise scribbled or typed. If you wrote it, you are still a writer.

The word “write” covers any mechanism where words and sentences can end up on the printed page. Is it true that even authors are still writers?
