What is the meaning of ‘Straight Over’/’closed’?

You must drive to

headington roundabout (behind Hemmingway) where you go over and make your way to Newbury.

Does it mean where you go straight through(something)? Why is over is through?

Straight over means you go around the roundabout, but exit it travelling in the same direction at which you enter it.

In this case you go straight over the Headington roundabout.

Almost as if you are driving over a roundabout as if it didn’t exist, although of course you aren’t, you are driving around a roundabout just exiting it without stopping.

How can I draw a diagram in some words?
