What is the meaning of a paragraph?
What is the meaning of this paragraph: “We have insights into
reality, we continually reshape them, putting oppositions together, arguing, reconciling on different systems of knowledge simultaneously – art and science, science and art… We can’t just be a number, we need something, we can only be seen if we can’t get things of our self-driving”. Not the same, never likely to form any kind of universal epistemology, but equally important modes of enquiry. ”
What is “Arts and Science, Science and Art” saying there? What’s the main sentence of that sentence?
Is it possible to rewrite that sentence “Not the same, never likely to form” in your language? What does it mean?
Will anyone rewrite this paragraph in the English language, really?
Is the distinction between science and art a device to avoid giving more importance to one of the two disciplines? There is also a sense in which ‘to reconcile’ is directional. If I did, would I get to reconcile study with art?
Example: reconcile •make or show to be compatible. “The agreement had to be reconciled with the City’s new international relations policy”
What is knowledge, how is knowledge acquired and when is knowledge understood? To gain insight into actuality (what was real or unreal) we juxtapose opposing ideas, thoughts, beliefs; and we argue, reconcile, accept or discard. To do this, we take the help of science and art or vice versa. (science=knowledge, art=application) None of these two is absolutely for understanding of the truth, but, to quote from your citation “equally important modes of enquiry..”
What is the importance of scenery in your novel? Your drawing a picture of such a scene is art. What you strive to become is to gain an insight into truth/reality/fundamental…and what you strive at is to
gain an insight into Truth/Reality/fundamentals as you may call it.
