What is the difference between why I really want something?

Reading some books and posts I noticed that there are some semantice differences between constructions described in the title of this post. I am a graduate and I want to learn physics. I want to understand what are the differences between conventional and real concepts?

the mistaken notion that don’t apply: You don’t seem
