Is this a pun? In computing terms a stack is a storage unit for a virtual ‘pile’ of data objects, and a stock exchange is a place where profitable companies become more valuable and unprofitable ones become less profitable. When the Stack Exchange was started, mostly software developers will take a look at the answer for the questions there. The good answers will climb through the page, while the bad ones

will filter down.
