What is salaried job?

I’m writing a paragraph comparing working and volunteering and I’m looking for a word to say that a person will be compensated if he is an employee but a volunteer won’t, what is the best word that fits? Is working still good? Why is the word compensative common but was never used in the English word?

Is one a good example of “remunerated”? From M-W online: “to pay an equivalent for”. “their services were generously remunerated.”

As a final comment on “Compensated” would fit as well.

Paid is the word you are looking for already? Is working paid but volunteering isn’t. Is there any unpaid work what you do? Volunteer work is paid. What is unpaid work? There is never even a need to describe

it.
