What is “off the clock”?

How can you explain “off the clock” in terms of a musical performance?

Is it necessary to use hyphens in OH codes to “off-the-clock”?

I can find several explanations in the Internet, but none of them seem to be trusted.

Not at work.

Not being paid for work.

Relaxation is relaxing and wonderful. What is it?

Most commonly the term ‘not working’ is used to mean that they are not working. If your shift is over and you’re heading home, and a customer asks you to help them, you may tell them ‘Sorry, I’m off the clock, go speak to someone at the till’ for example.

What is the best way to get free help from someone who you would typically have to pay for help and also known as pro bono? Why don’t you ask your lawyer friend to pay you for his legal advice?
