What is it like to call someone in English?

What do we call in English? “? As a Philippines native, the first is not unusual at all (probably it’s because of the influence of Spanish, which was the national language for almost 400 years). Why in European languages do some people say “how.” In fact, it is rather interesting that these languages most often say “like”. What are some good ways of explaining this? Thank you very
