What does half blind mean?

If I have a sentence like:… was an old, ugly, half-blind is it

mean 50% vision in both eyes? Why do I have blindness on both eyes? Does having poor eyesight mean anything to me (my boyfriend)? Was this sentence in class today too ridiculous? I am still learning it but the question still comes up in my

head. Like many other questions I have seen it before or recently.?

Why would I have horrible opias to both eyes?

How does “half” actually means “50%” in the most basic sense? “Half dead” means “badly injured”, “half asleep” means “feeling very sleepy, or perhaps dozing but still conscious”.

If you lost an eye and you could see through the remaining one, you wouldn’t call them “halfblind”: they can see almost as well as someone with two eyes – the only difference being a smaller field of vision.

If you can use single eye and doodle to describe someone as half blind, when your vision is poor, you can also say: “He only had one eye and that was half blind.”
