What I mean by crush, is an unrealistic one-sided obsession? I am a man. My crush is David Beckham. And he’s incredible. But there’s not a reason to be jealous. I’ve cucked out all that… ”
would a word change to a longer word? Why is one word more formal, less complex? I searched for a while but can’t find any synonyms for the form of Crush. I
want the word for a novel which is set in an old-ish fantasy period so I don’t think ‘crush’ would feel in-place. The main character is a lower class
worker.

I’m seeing most of the words for a target of infatuation are lacking the unrequited dimension of crush at all. What’s that romantic comedy that would make you ignore a crush? If you are, they’ve stopped being a crush and moved on to being something more realistic.
