Use of the “the” article
Why is article definite which is useful

hunting rather than just one question?

some public life areas, people go fox hunting. This is illegal.
What is the point of getting paid for a professional sports book?
In the first example, we know there is only one set of upper classes, so we use “the” before it. If it is unclear which the person you are talking about in high society, you can omit the “the” before people. Do you have clarity in your topics when you remove “the” from
