Phrase for spending time away from your family or home doing something with friends. For instance, if I wanted to spend a morning or evening at school doing something with friends then this phrase could possibly be asked.

What is a word or phrase that describes the time that you take off from your home or family to do an activity for your personal pleasure, but not alone?

At “own time” we mean spending time on our own, which is not really what I’m looking

for.
