I visited some famous tourist hotspots in a country where I enjoyed some beautiful sceneries. When we got some facts and told that trees were fake: they were carefully sculpted so that they even looked like trees from forest, we felt betrayed.

In terms of nouns, previously-suggested deception perhaps matches best in the example sentence, “We felt betrayed by the ____”. So using terms like sham and bogosity have more-negative connotations than are warranted and appear natural. I should have checked the question to be sure. What is engendered by fake trees? Are deceptions made better by knowing they’re made? One might fill in the blank with unbelievability, or maybe with a longer phrase like “the incongruity or shabbiness or unreality of trying to improve on nature”

Once established that some of the trees are fake, one could also call the setup, a hoax, which Merriam_Webster defines as, an act intended to trick or deceive people.
