On pied piper in direct question and indirect question vs. Piston test in direct question. Relational clauses
What is the history of Miguel, whose first language is Japanese? This time, I have very naive question about pied-piping in English. What should I do?
What is there for pied-piping in relation to answer sentences? In this light, shall English native speakers allow pouring for wh-questions? I made several examples… If possible, could you grade these examples?
- What are the reasons why my grandmother’s death happened?
- I don’t know if John is that cute or unfunniest guy anymore. When did they decide their next steps?
- Why does John see pictures of people not liking him or why he feels compelled to change them or what.
- Who do you think John likes about the picture shown?
- John has been to the same party with his niece as before… but has never been able to tell her what party she had and when exactly.
- On which night John and Friends were together for dinner?
- Who does John like?
- For whom does John like the picture?
- Is John really a fan of the picture?
- When did John go to the hotel and his party?
- Which party did John go to?
If a sentence is completely acceptable you can grade it as 2 for letter A. If it is not, grade it 5. If they are absolutely unacceptable, assign 1; if you are the majority of this problem, then assign 2.
example: (1) 5, (2) 2, (3)…. This
question asks your acceptability, but not formal grammaticalness. Even if a sentence is prescriptive, as long as you accept the sentence, grade it higher.
I am very looking forward to hearing about your answer.
How do I figure everything out for my degree?
