sth My question is this: Why does “of” in these sentences?

Can it not be correct without ‘of’ as in: “It was really more a coment than a question”

For example, I type “I am having a little trouble” instead of “little of a trouble”

I see the usage of “of” but I didn’t get the hang of it.
