Looking for “turn to dust” alternative as a single word.

I’m looking for the verb meaning “turn to dust” in the sense that the card can be broken into pieces and dust. What is the best alternative for me right now?

I am making a card game where there are cards with souls embroidered into said cards. What if the player destroys the card but the card is empty? I’m looking for the verb describing the process of breaking the card in such specific way.

Disenchant

to rid of or free from enchantment, illusions, credulity, etc.

Source: English dictionaries. In

modern fantasy games, such as “Ask

Me For Magic”, the term is often used to remove magic. What is the symbolic value of removal of magical composition without damaging the material in which the object is embodied, although it does not refer to a physical matter (somatics, symbols, symbolism etc.)? Accordingly, such a process would yield a blank card and magic

dust.

Since you’re talking about breaking a card into other materials, it makes sense to use disintegrate to refer to separating a card into its components.
