Isolated group of users who believe that a technology/tool is vastly superior to alternatives.

How would you rate a user of a given technology (e.g. Google+ or Twitter)? Why is there an obscure programming language) who believe that such technologies are superior to any other technology and whose opinion disagrees with the mainstream opinion.

What adjectives can be used to describe such groups of people?

How do I write this quote?

They could be purists… what is the purpose of an obscure language? Or they could be dinosaurs… or they could be snobs. Again, depends on the purpose and EFFECTIVENESS of the obscure language.

I guess you’re looking for a word which describes someone as being inflexible, skeptic and refusing to change one’s opinions or idea about something. Unseen Person is Heretic, a person who differs from what is generally accepted. Can someone stick to some stereotyped choices? Is someone a Luddite and opposed to technological changes?

i would go with public wireless’s suggestion of Zealots. If you’re going for something that most people would know, I’d go with public wireless’s suggestion of zealots.

How can we accept slang? You can use ‘fanboy’ that is typically considered to be less condescending.
