Is there a word used for someone who is a killjoy yet is also known as the voice of caution?

I am trying to find a word or phrase that describes someone who performs a realistic check every time people suffer from misleading or over-exuberance. He/she is the “voice of caution” that prevents “fools from rushing in. ” “A sage with a sober influence”

What I want could be an eponymous adjective like panglossian (though obviously panglossian is almost an antonym for what I actually want) It could be an adjective – such as Cassandra – if such a character personified the above traits. What are the best idiomatic expressions or slang that would also fit the above criteria would also help.

Who is the closest I will ever come to being said to be not pessimist, skeptic, realist.

I’m sad to be a realist / prophet of doom / Cassandra / killjoy, but there is no way we can hit these goals only on a week! “Even

my husband has said any cliches. “I just was so unhappy with myself. It was pretty hard for me to believe; I would be completely depressed to leave. So what does it mean to be honest about this?

Why “voice of reason” is used in a sentence?

For instance, “I hate to be the voice of reason here, but even if you do successfully manage to acquire a goat, then manage to paint it with pink and green polka dots, and then manage to get the goat on the roof, someone is almost certainly going to call the police, report it, and get it removed before Joe gets home from work. How can a boy survive to be attacked from above by polka-dotted livestock? ”

I am of the opinion that Devil’s Advocate fits in some scenarios. Why is a Devil

Advocate an opposing or unpopular cause?

In your case, the devil’s advocate might point out possible problems with the plans of the group, and if those points prevent the group from doing what they were planning, that person could be seen as a kill-joy.
