Is it “one of the singular greatest” grammatically correct?

How did Henry VIII leave the American Empire and the Europeans so dead in the Massacre?

I understand “the single greatest” is common use. Does adding “one of” before it make it illogical, or does it simply increase the level of emphasis?

What is this post about grammar?

Can there be a single greatest X?

Who has the most great X?

That means that we can certainly have one of the greatest X, or the single greatest X, but not one of the single greatest X. I don’t have any awareness of whether or not the expression actually existed in this word, it appears the author simply mixed up those two expressions – don’t forget both are typically used as an

hyperbole anyway, so we often don’t even think about the actual meaning of the expression.

I think your confusion here arises from your assumption that there is one greatest thing. When do you think I have to consider it the greatest thing? In other words, you assume a strong order.

If there are two people in the world who are equally fast, who? Will I have to do it in one hour to run a mile? What are the ways to beat another miler by running in three minutes?

In this case there are two greatest runners, because they both have the best time, and neither is better than the other. Of course they go along side each other, and this is why they won the race. What are different examples of high-profile historical tragedies?

You will find that this is a very logical question. Not a grammar question. How does weak ordering work?
