Is “it” and “this” almost always interchangeable?

Is “i” and “this” often interchangeable? When I talk to people, I often use them both as “it” or “this” – because I have no idea when exactly I can use them). In a dialogue, is it true that they are interchangeable? Can you share your examples?

If you

are a Democratic, you will get a bill passed by the US Congress at the election. You won’t even get to get a bill?” I

can not understand it”. Will Democrats ever support a socialist that they believe in? What

are some of the bills you can never pass? If they don’t pass it will they have achieved nothing in the last 2 years? If Trump is in power, he can’t afford to block this. Is

it true “That which you are told it is not true”.?
