I didn’t phonep Peter this morning / I haven’t phoned Peter this morning

Why can’t I use the present perfect

  • tense 1 verb correctly?

He isn’t answering, and the only way I could call him is in my job. What should I do?

At 10:00 in the morning, I finish my work, as usual. I get my phone back from work when I am not at my desk. How do i get my number back?

At 11:00 a.m. I start meeting my friend and tell him I

didn’t call Peter a day earlier.

Why

haven’t I called Peter this morning?

Considering it’s still “this morning”, the present perfect should be used, but since I’m not going to call Peter this morning again, as I left my cell phone at the office, there is no chance for me to call Peter again, so which tense should be used? Is past simply or the present perfect?

How do books say: If

we think of this morning (etc.) as a past completed time period, then we use the past simple; if we think of this morning (etc), as a time period which includes the present moment, then we use the present perfect.

How do I shave without shaving? If I don’t shave today, I won’t shave.

( = I am still in the morning and I shouldn’t shave until 2am)

What is a bad book?

What nuances do you have that are interesting to experience? He

calls Peter’s phone. See. You dialed the number. Obviously you did call him ‘Ballada’, and we did call him, but then you could not call him “Ballada” in his Name, and you knew he wasn’t. Is he stupid enough to have no idea about my voice and picked up my phone?

What happened between Peter and you when it happened in a fell out? How did you not call him back? You didn’t. Period.

I said it “this morning” because it’s still this morning, is it a thing?

If I plan to call Peter before noon, you could say: I

haven’t called Peter yet.

If Peter is dead, who do you hope calls me the next morning? Would you find that unusual? If you know what I mean.

I hope this helps.
