feel like “how many stops are there…” sounds awkward, but “how many stops are there?” sounds normal to me.
In many examples that I’ve seen with how many or how much, if the main verb is ‘be’, it agrees with the noun after how many or how much. E.g. How many apples can you keep stored in the fridge? Why
doesn’t the verb ‘be’, in this ‘is’, agree with’stops’? What kind of language words have “how many stops is it…”?
In the same way, can you say “how many apples are in a fridge?” If so, is this the best answer? How does apples count? What does “?
How can somebody convince you why I work hard under the circumstances?

about this: I live in a

the subject in this thread is ‘it’ and not’stops’ as you and I think. It takes a singular verb.
