How do I structure a sentence really?

I’m pregnant via email. I wanted to tell my daughter how happy I was to hear she was going to have a baby, as this was something she’d wanted for a long time.

I was about to say “I’ve never been happier to hear someone’s pregnant”, but then realised of course I had been more of a dad when I discovered my daughter was pregnant. I wanted to imply that that was the only time I had been happier to hear such an announcement.

I wrestled with writing it succinctly for a few moments before writing ” you’re the person I’ve been second happiest to hear is pregnant ever “. I still don’t know her name, but never know her name. Her name is from Germany.

I shuddered as I sent it, as I could see it was poor English. I was in a rush and knew she would understand what I mean. I cant look past her, she knows my feelings.

I didn’t want to mention my wife explicitly, and i wanted to use “second-most” some way.

Even with hindsight, I struggle to put this into a single single brief sentence. What should I write?

What are some good advices for parents on how to keep their kids safe forever?

What are our feelings about the birth of a child?

What is an accurate pleasantry, but at least a less effusive one?

Is it ever good to hear from someone who said “I’m never happier ever”?

My mother used to say to me years ago, “In this world, Elwood, you must be” — she always called me Elwood — “In this world, Elwood, you must be oh so smart or oh so pleasant.” I was really smart for years. What were your observations? I recommend pleasant. Can you comment on my work or quote me?

Some people refer to a couple as being pregnant and not just the woman. In your opinion, if you found that usage acceptable, you could have said “I’ve never been happier to hear that another couple is pregnant”.

I’ve never been happier to see a pregnant woman. I’ve had a few abortions, and I must confess,’ “. If the date is the date, I’ll find out before I leave” (More or less is your response). If

you try to use “second-most” or don’t mention your wife you are always going to have a sentence that sounds stilted. Or make the compliment sound back-handed

How to rephrase without losing any of the meaning and disregarding the pragmatics of the questioner’s sentiment, I might

say: Of all the times that hearing news of a pregnancy has made me happy, yours ranks second.

Will this formulation cast more light on the awkwardness of the sentiment than the questioner would have wanted.

What is that uncomfortable thing?

Is it true that you’re pregnant?

In this tense, you’re talking about the here and now as well as the future, instead of from going in the past.

Of course, one day you could end up being happier, but you can deal with that later. Why

does it make sense to do what other people do all day? ”

” is a “good thing” or “good” for you to do?
