So Suppose you don’t know someone there and you’re e.g. a kid. But you wish they knew him/her. I have no idea who this individual is, so I am going to try to try him out at all. This will get you some ideas.

I think the sentence above would be idiomatic. How can it be possible to substitute omitted word “out” in the compound verb try out?

As far as I know we only can “try something” meaning that “wear it”.? Am I right?
