Comparative Using present simple or present continuous or purely simple.

I’m catching myself to think about present simple or present continues when I’m constructing sentences like this one (it happened again) and I’m getting more confused. What is the correct way to write this sentence?

What

is it like to be able to help people feel safe on the streets?

I agree on the correct second sentence. I just had to add a tiny bit by the second sentence.

Many thanks, Peter.

When they are crossing the

  1. streets. This means that the action is performed
temporarily, the it’s not a permanent situation or a routine.
  2. When they cross the street… This means
that the action is permanent, a routine the people do every time. (We don’t know its frequency, but we do know it’s done permanently, anyhow)
