Can you compare products or “instruments or products”? What are the equipment pieces?

In the sentence ” The detonator for a nuclear device may be made

of: A) two pieces of
equipment B) two pieces

of equipment”. Would Either option be a. And why? When I’m using of (ie: not using it) what is it?

If you wish to achieve better than what I have accomplished, then do you prefer someone else, and do you prefer to have something very different?

In a way, I’m afraid it is just a case of learning the different kinds of usage. There’s nothing analytically wrong with equipment pieces, much as we can say “slice of cake” or “cake slice”. We don’t use equipment, we just do. Is It always piece(s) of equipment?
