Can I make up for someone I shouldn’t have?

What do you think about making up for of “make up for”?

You make up for losing everything? I used to think you can also make up for someone, meaning that you will do something nice to that person because you feel obligated for your not-so-nice conduct prior to this conversation.

I’m a week late at my computer. Please excuse me. I’m very late please. I will make everything up.

Since I can’t seem to find a valid example for this usage, I noticed that I might have picked up this phrase mistakenly.
