Are there absolute interpretations to all utterances? Generally I’m inclined to interpret with a fluid process, where the interpretation of a question takes on a rhetorical trajectory whereby the asker and respondent act and react in accordance with their interests at any given point in the interaction. In the verbal conversation, the nature of the interaction can change. Where did you ear are from? I have made friends on Foreigner Street :(thinks that I’m foreigner) A: I have a Japanese mom. I am from the Far East and I like to live and play on the Edgekick Street (where my parents live; I can’t find others) I’m from Pakistan. Question: Why am I asking that question? (thinks: He thinks I hate foreigners) where did you come from from? But what would people think of doing? ….
