    To “jam” is force into.

    If you want something to be forced down your throat without affecting your sense of smell or sensation, you would try to pass a thought or idea down your throat. How can I convince someone to agree with proposal?

    As you read your excerpt, Pat Rafter is saying “they” need to understand that their biggest problem is to become complacent and take the opponents easy.”

    My reaction to your second quote is that people don’t force everyone into veganism. I’d be tempted to think whatever you think.
