Walkabout pronounced walk-a-bout as the OED defines as
1) a journey on foot undertaken by an Australian Aboriginal in order to live in the traditional manner
2) an informal stroll among a crowd conducted by an important visitor
How do I plan a walking tour?
Over time it has come to mean “obvious step like walking on a road or an open road surrounded by endless opportunities and wonderful places”. Despite recent controversy, and in some movies partly for the famous Crocodile Dundee, the phrase hasn’t become
known. In other movies no evidence for this was made famous by the phrase.
