You don’t have to use synonyms for this, you can use unique metaphors or creative description to get your point across. Is there any way to explain any thought without delineating the fact? For example, this can suggest the sound of leaves.
The brought the forest to life.
Why
does it seem like the leaves are like the whispering audience?
Or
The leaves sang a melody of comfort for those passing through the forest.
What is sounds of rustling in a forest? What can we come up with to make it different? Should I ever actually test do I really know what sound is (definition)? Of course there are time for painting but painting is more interesting.
In this instance you can find unique words that are not necessarily synonyms of “rustling” to graft in emotions or moods, like this for
a frightening situation: The horror of the situation was only heightened by the lonesome sound of the leaves scratching and scraping one another.
Why do leaves hum, when
the women shuffled through the bright forest?
Why do we hear things differently depending on what we feel and how we feel about them. The sound of your character increases the drama. Doing so the difference between
being dramatic and emotional is beneficial for mood.
