And ‘of’ in this context is ambiguous. How can I assess whether a subject of study has similar characteristics and you’re talking about the data you’ve gathered on this subject?
The usage of “with” makes it clear that the latter sense is intended.
I would question the use of ‘diversifying’ and ‘diversification’ here, as the term implies expansion, while the use here seems to have more to do with limit.

I suspect there’s been a unconscious inversion of ‘in our efforts to improve’.
It’s a phrasal verb that fits into a ‘desires are containers’ model, of which examples are “in our desire to do x”, “in our desire to do x”, “in our wish to do x”, etc.
See Rudzka Ostyn, p 57, a near equivalent. I
have none. What is the correct translation?
