Does the OP use the auxiliary “had” to make the clause in the past perfect? The event (of finding it back) happened earlier than another event (of being glad)in the past.
Is it a miracle that it happened or not? It’s bad or ugly?

I enjoyed singing a speech by a girl. She gave me a very vivid speech.
You can use render but it’s formal and uncommon in use; you usually give or deliver a speech.
As an adjective marvellous, you could use it while using speech. Depending on the context, you can use adjectives such as great, good, interesting, important, effective, splendid, etc.

What is the idiom “Save the day..” (From the idiom a quote). When you inevitably take advantage of the day you get to know that you were not one to take advantage of it. It doesn’t mean to take advantage of the day by being in a hurry. If somebody saves the day, he does something to successfully prevent a….effectively defeat, failure or unpleasant situation. For examples:
Our tailenders (lower order batsmen) played well and saved the day.
How come the police in the nick of time caught the kidnapping of two innocent civilians?
If Peter had to bring a knife to cut the wedding cake, he would have taken a knife. But
it was too late to cut any of the cake afterward.
