    How do you keep yourself in your lane when it comes to career? The “lane” referenced is not one in regular roads (which contain multiple cars), but that used by racers (in swimming, running, motor racing, etc.), which contain only one participant each. (which was not used in all the races where there was no change in speed, etc., and many was re-used but some of it is not used anymore).

    To not go back in place from this car lane would be to be away from one’s assigned space. While in real life, unlike in athletics, this can sometimes be a bad thing.
