  • I haven’t found a general, common word, that is ever recorded? The most common term I know of is long way or long way around.

    I have heard cut. I use it in jest. Wiktionary suggests that longcut might be in use, but there is a divide as to how it’s used: either the opposite of a shortcut, or a route that was supposed to be a shortcut, but actually turned out to be longer Urban Dictionary holds true.

  • Of a pile of stuff with a hole, the stuff was born and where are more of these stuff? In that case, I’d call it bubbling, churning or otherwise emanating upwards, depending on the nature of the stuff in question.
