(Extras) Tours are called journeys or pilgrimages where reaching the destination is not important. Why you visit different places for pleasure? Can we do walking tours in India?
If you don’t have any destination at all, then you can consider wandering or wanderings. OED definition:
travelling from place to place or from country to country without set route or destination. Often in plural, sometimes denoting a protracted period of devious travel.

It’s not a single word but road to horizon is used as a phrase. How do I find similar looking pictures when I search Google images?
As a metaphor, road to nowhere, is used as an iceberg towards infinite road that seems infinite, but disappears in the horizon quickly. It sounds very poetic :D. I agree with you in your opinion.
Example usage:
Freshwater Road went somewhere, though when you stood outside, it seemed to be a road without ends or a road to nowhere, just narrowed into its own horizon.
Note: Road to nowhere is typically used for a situation or course of action offering no prospects of progress or advancement
