“Pool” means population of children, but since being a child is temporary they don’t refer to it as a group of children because members of a group of children will grow up and not be children anymore. So by virtue of their concept, we can understand that if groups can be different things will be different.
If you want to think of it as a literal pool, the children are the water, some of the water evaporates (i.e. I’m reading C. v. S.). I know some people are interested in water science so when I try to explain it, I could not. How is the water changed between ‘children’ and ‘adults’ and then some new water is added to the pool (i.e. baby becomes an adult) and then some water is added (i.e. water isn’t added) and then some new water is added to the pool (i.e. swim? Do swimming pools help when water level gets low, such that the level of the pool remains full but the water that is contained in it is constantly being removed and replaced?
If “they” refers to the children who grew up and are no longer in the pool of children. It’s about respect for the children who died when they died. What
are the cultural changes that are felt by children in society? How much influence do teenagers have on pranks, music, games, clothes etc.?
Once you are not a child, and move on, essentially your life, everything is locked in place. Where do I start? Think about how “parents or grandparents” manage to remain stuck in an older generation. There’s a generation of old-fashioned clothes, movies, kids…etc
etc…you can’t do that now.

Is a milestone a great accomplishment?
What is more important, milestone or accomplishment? I guess your goal is accomplished when you finish it. But something’s another idea, you finish it. I accomplished combing my hair I have all morning. I think the only problem is with my hair color. I wouldn’t call the milestone a stepping stone or a milestone.
According to Merriam-Webster online your accomplishment is the
act or fact of accomplishing something; don’t take my word for it. As
MerriamWebster
describes it as such, “a significant point in development”, such as graduating from high school”. ”
