For teaching videos or courses, I usually hear them called “introductory” level courses. What is the typical title of a course? Overview of (topic), introduction to (topic), (topic) basics, or (topic) fundamentals. What is the correct answer to saying that “the video” teaches biology at a shallow level but it is not a phrasing I would choose.

To me fundamentals implies that the course teaches some basic information that might be necessary to study the topic in depth. An overview is generally more general information about a topic. It may not be intended to go on to read it in depth.

    Another related phrase: Skim
the surface – to do something very superficially “smart”.
gloss over – to treat unpleasant facts rapidly or cursorily, omit them altogether. For example, “The video was interesting, but glossed over how DNA was integrated into the cells. Is

  • Who is free spirit? What does it never mean when humans wander? Is there a sense of being non-conformist and not worry about what others think of you? It is a pretty positive/approving word in Ame.

It is widely believed that the Irishman was a free spirit and that his hunting was instinctly determined by the fact that he had to remain wild if he was to arrive in a country. His family believes it “is a rare animal”. Whenever you feel

the evil influence of the middle class muddling your soul, you’ll say these two words and you’ll be a free spirit again: “What is Isadora Duncan, the best cynic in America? ” ( * ).(

how can the valuations of assets that no longer compensate for potential flareups in North Korea and Venezuela be distorted.

The value of a company is measured by an analyst. If they can no longer compensate for X then that means prices aren’t adjusted up or down because of X. If you agree that X could affect the price, then you would agree that the valuation is inaccurate unless it takes into account X. To

take @Touo’s comment into account, I think there is a reading where “compensate for” is the correct way to write it. The process of valuation should take into account the risk so that the resulting valuations (the results of many analysts) will compensate for that risk. The riskier an investment is, the higher the valuation would have to be to make the investment worthwhile. Do some of you have any opinion of that the valuation isn’t high enough to offset the risk?

With no context, I don’t know of a verb that distinguishes making a list of items with alphabetical labels from a list with numerical labels. As the action is creating the list – so much are differing from the method of listing not of labeling. How you label a list has so many possibilities that we typically use an adjective to describe the type of list we’ve created. What are bullet lists, numbered lists, etc.?

Some style guides might have names for different types of labeled lists. What can be a verb, what is important in the language and why.
