What should the first sentence in this poem be about?
- Will deactivating, watching movies actually help? I know why.
- When did I stop cooking?
All these sentences mean that I was doing some activity, working, watching or cooking in the past, and then I finished doing it. In these cases, the verb stop is taking another verb as its complement. The verb in question is called in the English verb.in which case the verb must be in the form of -ing.
In the Original Poster’s two sentences, stops are used without a complement. How do they do so? If a verb stopped is assuming that the verb is coming up does not have a complement. You can’t tell what the verb is having or what is being done. What used to be my “stop doing”? I stopped in a sentence. It’s like a sentence with a little words.
