It is probably the product of a typo, where the author’s mind got a little ahead of itself, and was thinking about the -ing ending of the intended verb, but inserted -ing to soon, because forward- is also a verb. Degrading quality scores may be caused by improper computer editing.

Since “look forward” is a phrasal verb the correct present continuous form is “looking forward”, not “looking forwarding” Is the sentence you mentioned grammatically incorrect?

I too look forward has been used since 1836 as a word like “I’m looking forward”. I look forward is more formal than “I’m looking forward” in formal letters.
