What would be the best word to describe a person who knows the names of things without knowing how they work.

Benjamin Franklin once said,

“what signifies knowing the names, if you know not the nature of things” Is

ever a single word to describe a person like this one?

Generally:

1)A word to describe a person who collects cars but doesn’t know how cars work. E.g.?

3)A word to describe a person who put computers together with out knowing how computers work.(See diagrams, if possible).

What is the exact philosophy behind all the Bible teaching on the Bible?

  1. Is someone trying to trick others into thinking they are stupid or bluffer.

  2. Someone who genuinely learns names of things without really understanding how they work. In your example, a novice or hobbyist whose main task is to put together a computer of all their parts.

  3. I would like to know who you are so that I know the nature of things. Now we all know I know its names but we don’t know how they work. What is a bulb? Does everyone know exactly how the electricity works? In this group I would say that the term is simply=”user”.

For some of you out there, tell stories.

I call it feeling maayo. It means someone who feels like he/she is good at something but really not. (There are many examples)

Or feeling brayt, from English feeling + bright, someone who believes he/she is smart.

In the same structure:

  • feeling gwapa – thinks she’s pretty but is really not.
  • How do people feel when

they have a feeling dato?
