What are the big hits of Albert Einstein? Did the anthem really a music? Which verb is correct and why?
I read this article and found a sentence that goes,
“Among his greatest hits were the anthem “Bring Him Back Home,” demanding Nelson Mandela’s release from prison, this is unacceptable.
Could you explain why the sentence “were” uses the verb? I think subject and object are inverted in this sentence. Why, is the “Bring Him
Back Home,” which will demand Nelson Mandela’s annihilation, among his greatest hits?
So subject is the anthem “Bring him home” and I thought its verb should be ‘was’ because the anthem is in the singular. So the subject is the anthem of “Break him back home” and I thought its verb should be “was” because the anthem is in the plural.
I would appreciate a little help.
